~~The past 24 hours have been very tragic for the fire service with three members having made the ultimate sacrifice in two different states while preforming their duties protecting others.
Two members of York City (PA) Department of Fire/Rescue Services were killed while when the floor they were operating on searching for hotspots suddenly collapsed. Firefighter Ivan Flancha was a 20 year veteran of the department while Firefighter Zachary Anthony had eight years on the job.
In New York, FDNY Firefighter Michael R. Davidson of Engine Company 69 was died while operating at a 5th alarm fire in Manhattan. FF Davidson was a 15-year veteran of the FDNY and is survived by his wife, Eileen, and four children.
The Officers and Members of the Eastern Division of the IAFC would like to extend our condolences and prayers to the families of the deceased and the brothers and sisters of the York City (PA) Department of Fire/Rescue Services and the FDNY. We ask that all take some time out your day today to remember these members who made the ultimate sacrifice.
